Kelantan Darul Naim
Kelantan is one of the 14 states in Malaysia, a state located on the north–east coast of Peninsular Malaysia , facing the South China Sea, and in the north neighbouring Thailand. Kelantan was under the influence of the Siam (Thailand) before Raja Kumar or better known as Sultan Iskandar Shah released it from the Siamese grip.
Archeologically, Kelantan has economic ties with the Funan Empire, Khmer Empire, Srivijaya and Siam . History proves that Kelantan has strong connections with the Malay Patani Islamic Sultanate. It also proves that the Kelantan Malay Islamic Sultanate was linked to the Malay Patani Islamic Sultanate as well as the Malay Islamic of Champa .
Kelantan has a very unique culture that reflects, among others, the Patani influence. Kelantan is also rich in its traditional foods, differing from the other states in Malaysia. Among best known is ‘ Budu ’, one of the nutritious foods found here. It is eaten as a side dish with raw salad or ‘ulam’ together with rice . The Kelantanese depend on rice as their staple food. They will have rice at breakfast ,lunch and dinner. Some of the best known rice dishes are the 'nasi berlauk' ( rice with gravy ) and 'nasi dagang'.
