Sambal Daging ( Meat Floss )
Sambal Daging or Serunding ( Meat Floss ), is synonim to celebrations like Hari Raya Aidil Fitri (Eidul- Fitri ) or Aidil Adha ( Qurban ). Begin as a traditional heriditary fare, the production of the serunding has turned into a commercial trade for the rural folks of Kg Laut in Tumpat , Kelantan and has since become the trademark to this harmonious village.
Sambal Daging is prepared using original recipes handed down through generations. The main ingredients however , comprises different kinds of meat. There are chicken, beef, fish and mushrooms for one to choose from. They are packed and exported to local destinations around Malaysia and Brunei.
The Sambal Daging is made as an accompaniment to Ketupat (Rice Dimplings ), Lemang as well as Ketupat Daun Palas ( The glutinous Rice Dumplings ). It is also suitable to be eaten with rice and bread. The Sambal Daging known for its spicy aromatic taste is also used as the filling for mini popiahs ( a kind of snack ).
